GMI Construction Group has confirmed the completion of a new 143-room Piccadilly hotel for leading British specialist Avantis Hotels in a location in York city center.

The Hampton by Hilton building is located in the Castle Gateway neighborhood of the city, which York City Council has identified as an area of major renewal and development.

In addition to its 143 guest rooms, the hotel offers eight luxury private residences with uninterrupted views of Clifford’s Tower.

The program includes bicycle parking spaces and a range of charging stations for electric vehicles.

GMI Managing Director Lee Powell said, “This stunning new Hampton by Hilton hotel marks the eleventh hotel development GMI has completed and one of the most impressive developments to date.

“We are very pleased to have been commissioned by Avantis Hotels for this project and look forward to working together again on other projects in the near future.”

Ravi Majithia, Director, Avantis Hotels, said, “GMI has delivered a quality advantage by Hilton standards in a very challenging time.

“Avantis was enthusiastic about the finished product both as a developer and as owner and operator.

“We were eager to develop and test one of the first Hampton by Hiltons with a new prototype – a refreshed lifestyle product.

“We hope that this development will lead to a further regeneration of Piccadilly. GMI also supplied the luxurious Piccadilly Riverside Apartments which look amazing and are now for sale. ”
