UPMC Presbyterian (Pittsburgh) is planning a new bed tower on its campus in Oakland, Pennsylvania, according to an article University times.
The 900,000 square meter project will be built on the site of the former Children’s Hospital in front of the UPMC Presbyterian and will include 636 patient beds. A roof terrace, which will serve as a public lounge, and a 450-car parking garage are also planned.
The project team includes HGA (San Jose, California), IKM Inc. (architect; Pittsburgh) and Trans Associates (construction consultant; Pittsburgh).
The start of construction is planned for summer 2022, the opening of the project is planned for summer 2026.
