Jalandhar, December 4th
Unemployed BEd-TET-pass-unemployed teacher gherao resumed the residence of Education Minister Pargat Singh. At 6 a.m., the unemployed teachers silently staged a sit-in in front of Pargat Singh’s home. The teachers who recorded the videos were beaten by the police and some media representatives were prevented from covering the incident.
Shortly afterwards, the Minister of Education came out of his house and met the unemployed teachers. He promised to open the job postings by December 10th. According to the education minister’s promise, the unemployed lifted the dharna and warned that if the education minister did not keep the promise, they would hold another dharna in front of the education minister’s eyes. It’s worth noting that unemployed teachers want to use this BEd-TET pass to post an ad for 9,000 Punjabi, Hindi, and social education jobs.
