Two held in abetment to suicide case in Mumbai | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Two youngsters have been arrested for abetment of suicide of a 21-year-old B.Ed student from Vasai earlier this month. Abel Dsouza (20) and Savin Gonsalves (21) have been accused of mentally harassing Sancia Pereira over WhatsApp chats and video calls. Pereira was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her bedroom on January 4.
Her father filed a complaint with the Vasai police against Dsouza and Gonsalves on January 27 after it emerged that the duo were chatting with Pereira hours before she committed suicide. In their statement to the police, the two accused said that Pereira was two-timing them. When they learned about it they confronted her on WhatsApp through chats and video calls. Several messages, including some obscene ones were sent to Pereira by the two accused, police said. The two have been remanded to police custody till Tuesday.
