A Mt. Saint George man was murdered in his bed Friday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m., police were called to a home at 1 Village Street, Mt. St. George, where the body of 5-year-old Winfield McKain, also known as Cox, was found.
McKain’s brother Stephen Baptiste told Newsday he was called to the scene after another relative found his brother soaked in his own blood.
“He has a nephew who lives next door. He said he went into the house to get something and as he went in he found the body lying in a pool of blood on the bed.”
Baptiste said the body had lacerations.
He said his brother was a worker with the Unemployment Assistance Program (URP) of THA’s Division of Infrastructure, Quarrying and Urban Development (DIQUID).
He said he last saw his brother on Thursday night.
The body was examined by the district doctor and taken to the Scarborough morgue. The investigations are ongoing.
