This new Android 12 feature will make people who read in bed very happy

The autorotate feature of your phone screen can be very helpful in allowing you to view photos and videos in landscape mode, but it’s annoying when you’re in bed with the screen flipped when you don’t want to. Fortunately, Android 12 has a nice new feature that helps with this exact problem.

It uses face recognition to see the position of your face relative to your phone and holds the orientation at every angle of your face, even if the phone is tilted on its side. So if you read a webpage or a book in bed and turn around, the phone should recognize that you are still looking at it vertically and not turning the screen around. How to turn it on.

Make sure both switches are on the right.

First go to your settings and scroll down to advertisement. Scroll down there and tap “Auto-rotate screen”.

In this submenu you will see the option to completely disable automatic rotation as well as a new switch to enable face detection. Make sure both switches are on.

Now your phone should still automatically spin when you turn the phone on its side, but if the phone spins because you are lying down it should recognize this and keep things in the right direction for you.
