Srinath University observes ‘National Girl Child Day’ online

Jamshedpur, January 24th: National Girl Child Day was celebrated at Srinath University in Zoom app mode. The university’s NSS cell organized a program kick-off with a poster-making competition in which B.Ed., D.El. Ed., BBA, MB.A, BCA, MCA and Fine Arts students from Srinath University participated. The participating students explained the thought behind the creation of the posters. They also made a video presentation of the posters and purposes. The poster competition winners were Surabhi Mandal, Sahira Mohanta and Shaniya Praveen respectively.

On that occasion, the Secretary of the University, Gurudev Mahato, remarked: “We should all do our best to provide girls with opportunities for their full development.” Discussing the sensitive issue of gender equality, Gurudev Mahto said: “It is a blatant injustice depriving half of the country’s population of their rights, and this is a reflection that highlights a great social curse.”

Lead Professor Bhavya Bhushan stated in anchoring the program that the government is very serious about giving her rightful contributions to a girl with programs like “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” and “Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana” among others. Other faculty members also shared their views on the opportunities for a girl’s full development. Media Cell leaders Rachna Rashmi, Bina Mahato, Madhu Sharma, Binay Singh Shandilya, Jayshree Singh, Madhuri Kumari, Ganesh Mahato and Debopriya Sarkar were present on the occasion. The vote of thanks was offered by Bhavya Bhushan.
