Sarawak’s ICU bed utilisation rate drops to 58 pct yesterday

KUCHING (November 14): According to an infographic from the Ministry of Health (MoH), bed occupancy in the intensive care unit (ICU) in Sarawak fell to 58 percent yesterday.

As of Friday, 64.7 percent of Sarawak’s intensive care beds were used to treat Covid-19 patients.

“Klang Valley had the highest bed occupancy in the intensive care unit at 85.9 percent, while the national rate was 61.2 percent yesterday,” MoH said in a Facebook post today.

Terengganu took second place with 71.9 occupied intensive care beds, followed by Perak (72.3 percent), Kelantan (68.7 percent), Penang 66.7 (percent), Melaka (63 percent) and Sabah 52.7 (percent) ).

The occupancy rate of the intensive care beds at Pahang and Johor was 48.3 percent.

Other states with a relatively lower utilization of intensive care beds were Negeri Sembilan (43.6 percent), Kedah (40.4 percent) and Perlis (31.6 percent).

Labuan recorded the lowest occupancy rate of the intensive care beds at 16.7 percent.
