Sarawak’s ICU bed utilisation rate drops to 40.9 pct

KUCHING (January 17): Sarawak’s intensive care unit (ICU) bed utilization rate for Covid-19 fell to 40.9 percent yesterday.

On Saturday it was 44.2 percent.

A Ministry of Health (MoH) infographic shared on Facebook showed Sarawak’s use of intensive care beds for Covid-19 patients was the fifth lowest in the country.

Sarawak’s rate was much lower than the national intensive care bed occupancy rate of 52.7 percent yesterday.

Johor had the highest ICU bed utilization rate at 64.3 percent, followed by Klang Valley (62.3 percent), Kelantan (61.2 percent), Sabah (60.8 percent), Perak (57.3 percent) and Penang (57.1 percent).

Other states and territories with lower ICU bed occupancy rates than domestic were Melaka (46.7 percent), Negeri Sembilan (46.1 percent), Labuan (41.7 percent), Kedah (40.4 percent), Terengganu ( 39.3 percent). ) ), Pahang (37.3 percent) and Perlis (31.6 percent).
