Sarawak’s Covid-19 ICU bed utilisation rate lowest in country yesterday

KUCHING (Jan. 14): Sarawak’s intensive care unit (ICU) bed utilization rate for Covid-19 cases rose to 39.6 percent yesterday, a slight increase compared to 36.4 percent on Wednesday.

A Ministry of Health (MoH) infographic shared on Facebook showed Sarawak’s use of intensive care beds for Covid-19 patients was the lowest in the country.

The national occupancy rate for beds in the intensive care unit was 55.4 percent yesterday.

Klang Valley topped the ICU bed occupancy chart at 67.4 percent, followed by Kelantan (64.7 percent), Melaka (64.1 percent), Johor (62.5 percent), Sabah (58.7 percent) and Perak ( 56.4 percent). .

Other states and territories that recorded ICU bed utilization rates lower than the national rate were Perlis (52.6 percent), Penang (51.6 percent), Labuan (50 percent), Terengganu (47.5 percent), Kedah ( 44.5 percent). , Negeri Sembilan (43.4 percent) and Pahang (39.8 percent).
