Rs 3 lakhs financial assistance to construct double bed room house who have own plots: Minister

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Telangana Finance Minister T Hairsh Rao on Monday said that the state government has decided to launch a two-bedroom housing scheme for those people who have their own plots with a unit cost of Rs 3 lakhs per house. While presenting the 2022-23 state budget in the Assembly, Mr Rao said that the state Government, with an objective of providing a dignified dwelling of decent size, is implementing the double bed room houses (2BHK) programme. Under this program, houses were constructed with hundred percent subsidies. So far, the Government has sanctioned 2.91 houses. Out of these 1.70 houses were completed. The balance houses are at various stages of construction, he said. The Minister said, there were several representations made by the people’s representatives to the Chief Minister that financial assistance be provided even to those poor people who want to construct houses in their own plots. In this context, the Chief Minister has decided to launch a two-bedroom housing scheme for those people who have their own plots with a unit cost of Rs.3 lakh per house. In the coming financial year, the Government has decided that across the State four lakh beneficiaries will be provided assistance to construct houses with a unit cost of Rs 3 lakhs. The 2BHK scheme is a role model for the rest of the country. No other government in the country has taken up such a scheme. In the Budget, an allocation of Rs 12,000 crores is proposed for the 2BHK programme, the Minister added. UNI VV SHK2357
