As National Bed Month (March) approaches, the National Bed Federation (NBF) is calling on bed makers and retailers to support the annual awareness campaign and providing their NBF Retail Champions with an exclusive multimedia toolkit.
The campaign, which has been running for over 30 years, promotes the health benefits of buying a new bed, especially one from an NBF-approved member.
This year’s theme – Wake Up on the Right Side, with the Right Bed (#RightSideOfTheBed) – focuses on bed purchase advice to ensure consumers are getting the right bed for their needs, as well as tips on how to care for it to last the life to extend .
Advice is needed, according to NBF consumer research (see relatives) – 41% will replace their old mattresses in five years or less, a third cite the reason that their old bed is worn out and a further 21% say it is uncomfortable.
To support the campaign, NBF Retail Champions and NBF members have exclusive access to a free downloadable multimedia toolkit, new for 2022. The toolkit includes an updated logo, infographics, posters, web banners and a short video.
The NBF Retail Champions Scheme helps consumers identify those retailers who mostly sell NBF member brands – brands that have been independently audited to ensure their products are safe, clean, and honest. To qualify as a Retail Champion, a store must have at least 50% of its UK and Irish beds in stock from NBF members. Premier Retail Champion status applies to stores that source 100% of their beds made in the UK and Ireland from NBF members. If bed dealers meet these criteria, they are encouraged to apply for the program here to access the National Bed Month Toolkit and other year-round benefits.

Whether fundraising, funny photo opportunities, special discounts or value-added offers, it is the ideal opportunity for all bed dealers to stimulate new bed sales.
“The new toolkit provides NBF Retail Champions with additional tools to help them highlight the importance of a good, comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep. Use the video and infographics on social media, banners on websites, and logo in marketing collateral.
