An arrest has been made after a man was found hiding under a bed in Blackpool.
On Wednesday, February 1, police were called in the early hours of the morning to a suspected burglary in Topping Street, Blackpool.
Officers rushed to the scene and searched the loft but had no success. They were then directed to a nearby property after a man was reported in the loft.
The man was seen on the roof of the building before making off when police had arrived. Officers returned to the first property to find a man hiding underneath the bed.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Burglary and is in custody.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Op Defender, our force wide campaign funded by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner to crackdown on residential burglary, has led to another arrest.
“In the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday, February 1) we received a report of a suspected burglary in Topping Street, Blackpool.
“Officers attended the address, searching the loft with no success.
“While at the scene, patrols were directed to a nearby property, with a report of a man in a loft.
“As police arrived, the man was seen on the roof of the building before making off. Officers returned to the loft for the first address, with a man found hiding under a bed.
“A 42-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is in custody.”
