Plan to build 44 homes on bed factory site in Barwell

A former bed factory could be turned into homes, and more properties built on the site. An application for the plan has been submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Council for the site of Limelight Beds, on the corner of Kingsfield Road and Arthur Street, in Barwell.

The application site also includes Barwell Business Centre, which is currently divided into several light industry units. The street itself is a mix of homes and industrial buildings.

While 11 of the homes would be apartments in the factory building, 33 homes would be built from scratch. It is not clear how much of the existing structures would be demolished, if any.

The application has been made by Simon England. It is expected that a decision on the plan will be made by officers at the council, rather than by the council’s planning committee.
