LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – According to the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), the bed occupancy rate for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Pangasinan Province is now 0.1 percent.
During the Provincial Bureau (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) Question Time on Monday, Rhodyn Lunchivar Oro, head of the provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Bureau, said only one bed out of 1,084 assigned beds across the province was occupied as of Monday.
He attributed the lower bed occupancy in the hospital to the slow transmission of Covid-19 in the province.
“The province’s attack rate is 0.41 percent on November 30, compared to 7.0 percent on previous data,” he said.
Oro said the average cases for the month of November were 149 and falling continuously.
The latest Covid-19 data from the provincial health department showed that Pangasinan was released on Jan.
“In the last few weeks we have been counting single-digit numbers among the new confirmed Covid 19 cases,” he said.
Oro said the chairman of the provincial IATF, Amado Espino III, had mandated them to continuously practice effective and efficient measures to combat the threat posed by the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron.
“We have been instructed to coordinate with the Philippine National Police, the Navy and the seaports in Pangasinan that foreign ships call at,” he said.
Oro added that land border checkpoints are still in place and isolation facilities are continuously being maintained amid the Omicron scandals. (PNA)
