National Forensic Science University to be set up in Tripura | Education

The National Forensic Science University (NFSU) is to be established in Tripura and forensic studies up to PG level will begin in this academic session.

The center has approved the establishment of a full-fledged National Forenic Science University (NFSU) in Tripura and forensic studies up to postgraduate level will begin in the current academic session on a temporary campus here, State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said Tuesday.

The NFSU will initially hold its academic activities in the old building of B Ed College in the Buddhamandir area, Nath told reporters. Notification of admission to the proposed institute has already been issued for the 2021-22 academic year and faculty recruitment is ongoing, officials said.

Four courses of study are offered at the institute – B.Sc and M.Sc in Forensics (five-year integrated course), M.Sc in Forensic Science, M.Sc in Digital Forensic, Information Security and M.Sc in Cyber ​​Security. Said.

“The central government has approved a proposal from the state government to set up a National University of Forensic Science in Tripura, and the process of establishing the university has already begun.

In anticipation of the construction of a full-fledged campus in the Srinagar area here, academic courses up to master’s level will begin shortly within the current academic session, ”said Nath. A three-person delegation from the central government led by the Vice Chancellor of the NFSU, Gujarat, Prof. JM Vyas, met Prime Minister Biplab Kumar Deb here on Monday.

The state government has already allocated 49.2 hectares in the Srinagar area for the establishment of the permanent campus. 100 crore will be invested in the first phase for NFSU, the Tripura campus, officials said. Union Interior Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the institute here in the last week of November, officials said.
