GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation announced that she is using Alexa to assist people with care through voice commands.
We were told that Mary Free Bed is the first rehabilitation organization to develop an Alexa Skill for rehabilitation services.
The nonprofit hospital says users can say “services” to hear a description of the outpatient services available, or “assessment” to address concerns about pain or injury in a specific area of the body.
Mary Free Bed instructs users to use their Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa mobile app to answer a series of questions, followed by advice on managing symptoms and doing exercises at home.
According to Mary Free Bed, the Alexa Skill is programmed to respond to injuries and ailments in the hip, knee, ankle, lower back, middle back, neck, shoulder and wrist areas.
