Imphal: The Prime Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, laid the foundation stone for a field hospital with 50 beds in Longmai Part 1 in the Noney district on Tuesday.
The hospital is being built under the National Health Mission at an estimated cost of Rs.3.5 billion.
According to CM Biren Singh, the prefabricated field hospital should be ready for occupancy by March 31, 2022.
“I am confident that this hospital will give a big boost to the health care system in Noney,” said Singh.
The prime minister also announced that the state government has approved the construction of three more such hospitals in Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Pherzawl, adding that construction would start soon.
These projects are set up under the Department of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) s ECRP-II for Rs 14 crore, he said.
Singh also attended a one-day political conference in Longmai, Noney District, attended by thousands of supporters and party workers.
