A dog’s attempt to defy the laws of physics is proving popular on TikTok.
In a video uploaded by rerelucas76, an ambitious labrador can be seen trying to squeeze into a tiny dog’s bed.
To his credit, the dog manages to squeeze into the cozy-looking cot, but as his hilariously awkward expression shows, it’s far from comfortable.
The video can be viewed here.
An additional layer of hilarity is added to the proceedings by the fact that another small dog may be lurking nearby, clearly not too happy about being kicked out of its sleeping quarters.
Meanwhile, her owner can be heard calling her dog’s antics “ridiculous” and laughing along in the background. She’s not the only one seeing the funny side, either.
The video, titled “If I Pass, I Sit,” has been viewed more than 4.7 million times on TikTok, with animal lovers wanting to show their appreciation for the post.
“This is so funny god,” myshiningstar41 wrote with littlehoneybear_, adding, “aww he’s too cute!”
Others were just amazed that the Lab could fit in there at all. Mzcia said the dog “made it work,” with pczerkas jokingly claiming the pooch fit the bed “like a glove.”
Floofzinc agreed that it certainly “looks cozy”, while mv_roughdiamond made perfect sense of the whole situation, commenting: “We all tried to make a little blanket fit.”
Also in the video there was a lot of sympathy for the little dog.
“Poor little dog,” cutepuppy wrote. “Any big dog does that,” noted GriffsGarage87. “They always want to fit in the wrong places,” added Elia Senties.
According to the owner, the little dog is a cross between a mini pinscher and a chihuahua.

Though it may seem unusual to most casual viewers, the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University says it’s perfectly normal for dogs to seek out small and seemingly tight spaces.
“The concept of settling into a ‘cave’ is built into most dogs’ DNA, and many enjoy retiring to one, especially if it’s a place where they can see the goings on in the household, but don’t have to be part of it,” they explained.
The video comes just days after footage of a Chihuahua nervously retiring to a dog bed where a dozing cat is lying went viral on social media.
Dogs have a habit of invading their feline friend’s personal space, as revealed by another video showing a dog literally sitting on its owner’s cat.
While the dog’s actions provided some amusement in the second clip, the biggest highlight was the cat’s amused reaction to the chaos that ensued.
