KMCH opens 750-bed Medical College General Hospital

Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) opened a 750-bed facility called “KMCH Medical College General Hospital” on Sunday, located next to the main campus on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore.

The Thel Hospital will function as an independent hospital alongside the existing KMCH main center, according to a statement.

Chairwoman and CEO of KMCH Nalla G. Palaniswami inaugurated the hospital.

The press release states that the KMCH founded a medical college in 2019 under the name “KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research”. The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University affiliated college has the capacity to accept 150 students per year. The 750-bed hospital was inaugurated on the campus of the medical college.

Infrastructure facilities include 750 general beds, 50 intensive care beds, 30 emergency beds, 11 operating theaters and medical equipment such as CT scan, MRI, cath lab, ultrasound and digital X-ray.

The hospital will provide 24/7 health services and has a separate entrance accessible from Avanashi Road, the announcement said.
