Kebayoran Lama Hospital increases bed capacity against COVID-19 spike

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Kebayoran Lama Regional General Hospital in South Jakarta has provided additional beds as a precaution against a likely surge in COVID-19 cases before and after the 2022 Christmas and New Years Holidays.

“That’s right, we have 30 or 33 beds for COVID-19 patients. So we have both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 zones,” said Kebayoran Lama Hospital President Yenny Nariswari here on Friday.

Nariswari reiterated her government’s willingness to address the risk of a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Nariswari noted that the Kebayoran Lama Hospital will also redesign its services so that it will once again serve as a dedicated COVID-19 hospital in the event of a spike.

She also admitted that the hospital’s medical staff are currently prepared for an increase in cases.

“When our (COVID-19 cases) were high, we had volunteer support, but for now the volunteers have been called back because the rate is falling,” she noted.

Currently, the number of inpatients with COVID-19 at the Kebayoran Lama Hospital is only four or less than it was a few months ago.
