The Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, today announced the inauguration of a 350-bed Infosys Foundation Block on the grounds of Jayadeva Hospital in Bengaluru. This block was built by the Infosys Foundation to support the hospital in its quest to provide high quality heart care at an affordable cost.
The Infosys Foundation Block, built at a cost of INR 103 crore, will be equipped with cardiac medical equipment and provide free treatment to disadvantaged patients. It was inaugurated by Shri. Basavaraj Bommai, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. from Karnataka, in the virtual presence of Ms. Sudha Murty, Chair of the Infosys Foundation.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ms. Sudha Murty, Chair of the Infosys Foundation said: “The completion of this block is a testament to the longstanding collaboration between the Infosys Foundation and Jayadeva Hospital in treating disadvantaged patients in India. We are also grateful to the Karnataka government for their help and assistance in making this vision a reality. “
This initiative further contributes to the Infosys Foundation’s efforts to expand hospital and quarantine facilities and ensure appropriate medical treatment for the public. The foundation recently opened the Infosys Foundation Vishram Sadan ‘Dharamshala at the National Cancer Institute, AIIMS, Haryana. It has also helped build the Infosys Foundation Asha Nivas Dharamshala at the Tata Memorial Center in Navi Mumbai, a 75,000 square foot state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary outpatient department (OPD) block at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, and a Silver Jubilee Medical Block at Ramakrishna Sevashrama in Pavagada, Karnataka.
In the past year and a half, Infosys has allocated a total of INR 200 crore for Covid relief efforts across India. The Infosys Foundation, in collaboration with the state government, has also set up a 150-bed Covid nursing hospital in Bengaluru.
Infosys Limited shares were last traded on BSE at Rs. 1788.05 compared to the previous closing of Rs. 1790.60. The total number of stocks traded during the day was 53,172 in over 2,737 trades.
The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1802.00 and an intraday low of 1781.10. Net sales during the day were Rs. 95361125.00.
