IKEA customers locked in a store’s showroom had to spend the night after being snowed in.
Six customers and around two dozen employees had to spend the night in the store in Aalborg, Denmark, after a snow storm on Wednesday.
The group was stranded in the store when about 12 inches of snow fell, trapping customers and workers.
By choosing not to wander through the wintry weather, customers had the rare opportunity to really try out their potential new bedroom sets.
During the spontaneous overnight stay, each guest chose which Ikea products and mattresses they liked.
Store manager Peter Elmrose told the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet: “We slept in the furniture exhibition and in our showroom on the first floor, where we have beds, mattresses and sofa beds.”
Workers from the toy store next door were also stuck and took part.
Toy Store Manager Michelle Barrett said, “It’s a lot better than sleeping in the car. It was nice and warm and we’re just glad they let us in.”
“We just laughed at the situation because we probably won’t see it again.”
Pictures show the group of stranded customers enjoying themselves in various furniture exhibitions.
