Nagpur: Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) has started the registration process for BSc Nursing and BEd entrance exam for January 2022 session.
The eligibility for BEd programs is: At least 50% marks either in the bachelor’s degree and/or in the master’s degree in sciences/social sciences/commerce/humanities; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualifications equivalent thereto, AND the following categories are eligible to be students of BEd (Open and Distance Learning): (a) (i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education. (ii) Candidates who have completed a National Council for Teacher Education-recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode.
The eligibility for BSc Nursing is: In-service nurses, that is, registered nurse and registered midwife (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years, diploma in general nursing and midwifery (GNM) with at least two years experience in the profession after RNRM. Male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM program should have a certificate in any one of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery. OR in-service n urses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years, GNM diploma with at least five years experience in the profession after RNRM. Male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM program should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery.
The entrance exam fee is Rs 1000. The last date of online registration is April 17. Candidates can apply online through the Ignou website www.ignou.ac.in.
The exam will be held on May 8.
