D.El.Ed through distance mode to also be considered for primary school teacher post | Dehradun News

Nainital: People who have pursued the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) through distance mode can also apply for the post of assistant teacher in state-run primary schools in Uttarakhand, ordered the high court division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice RC Khulbe on Thursday.
The order came as the HC was hearing a bunch of PILs against the state government order to not include people who have pursued D.El.Ed through distance mode in the counseling process for the posts of assistant teachers in government primary schools. The PILs pointed out that D.El.Ed through distance mode is recognized by the Union ministry of education and the National Council for Teacher Education and hence, there is no reason why aspirants with distance-mode diploma should not be considered for primary school teachers recruitment. Currently, the process of hiring 2,648 assistant teachers for primary schools is ongoing in the hill state.
