DAVIS, CALIF. – Orchard Park, a 1,600 bed student residence on the University of California, Davis campus, is under construction. The property is aimed at graduate students and offers units at below market prices. The completion of the community is planned for autumn 2023.
Orchard Park is Phase II of a larger development called The Green at West Village, which is being built through a public-private partnership between the University and Michaels. Phase I of the project delivered 1,000 beds in the fall of 2020 and comprised nine four-story buildings with communal facilities, including a fitness center, multipurpose room and student care services. The property was fully let before the 2020/2021 academic year.
“Michaels is honored to be the university’s private sector partner for these two beautiful, convenient and energy-efficient housing developments,” said Ned Williams, senior vice president of Michaels Student Living. “We understand that great living together with great training represents the door to opportunities not just for today’s success, but for tomorrow’s success and beyond.”
