KATHMANDU: The Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel, said that only those colleges that have their own 100-bed hospital can conduct teaching-learning activities in nursing.
In an interview with media representatives today, Minister Paudel said that activities should not go beyond the law formulated by the Commission for Medical Education.
He said that the law drafted by the commission two years ago mentions that the colleges that are owning their own could build a 100-bed hospital.
The Minister of Education said colleges meeting the criteria could conduct teaching-learning activities for one nursing subject while discussion was ongoing for others.
He said that a meeting at the ministry a few days ago had asked all universities with a 100-bed hospital to start teaching-learning activities.
PCL nursing teaching and learning could not be carried out as it had already been decided to abolish it by 2080 BS, added Minister Paudel.
