CM KCR to lay foundation stone for 1000-bed super-speciality hospital in Erragadda

Hyderabad: Health Minister T Harish Rao said Wednesday that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone for the construction of the 1000-bed super special hospital on the 60-acre campus of the Government Chest Hospital in the next few weeks. Erragadda.

The Minister of Health said that all four planned super specialty hospitals in and around Hyderabad will open at the same time.

The state government plans to upgrade TIMS, Gachibowli, to a super specialty hospital, while two other similar facilities will be built on the Chest Hospital campus and the vacant space in the Gaddiannaram fruit market. A fourth health facility has been proposed in the Alwal or Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.

On the occasion of World AIDS Day at Chest Hospital, the minister said that the four highly specialized government hospitals will offer healthcare facilities on a par with corporate hospitals.

Commenting on HIV / AIDS, Harish Rao said people are very aware of HIV, which has played a crucial role in reducing deaths by at least 90 percent.

“Before statehood, the proportion of HIV / AIDS was 0.7 percent; over the years it has fallen to 0.4 percent. To improve facilities for HIV / AIDS patients, we have established 167 Integrated Counseling and Testing Centers (ICTC) and 22 ART Centers that provide free treatment and diagnostic services. Every year the state government spends Rs 50 crore, ”he added.
