Tucked away in a small North Yorkshire village near Scarborough, is a B&B restaurant rated five out of five on TripAdvisor.
The Farrier, in Cayton, is not only a restaurant, but also has rooms for people to stay overnight and a cocktail lounge. You can also book out the place for a private function.
Reviews on TripAdvisor praise The Farrier for its food, service and value for money. The restaurant was also featured on the Channel 4 show ‘Four in a Bed’ where B&B owners visit other establishments.

One reviewer, Steve M, summed up most people’s feelings on The Farrier by saying: “We stayed at the Farrier on the last night of a week traveling around Yorkshire, and did we save the best to last! We had expected it to be good based on the excellent reviews, but to be honest it exceeded our expectations.
“It’s difficult to fully describe how good the Farrier really is and how the obvious hard work by the owners and staff have created a wonderful establishment. The rooms are superb and contain everything you might need, beds are large and very comfortable.
“Public spaces are welcoming and decorated to a high standard. The food was outstanding, both breakfast and the evening meal was just superb. Lastly all the staff are friendly and welcoming and make the hotel a very special place to stay.”
OliviaTaylor12 agreed writing: “Best Staff, best service, best food and best atmosphere ever! They’re welcoming with very warm staff and serving kindly. The restaurant was clean and all the plates and cutleries were shining. Thanks for the amazing dinner.”

“This was our 1st visit and won’t be the last even though we don’t live in the area.! Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
“Beautiful surroundings and a lovely little bar upstairs. No wonder they won Four in a Bed!!! If you haven’t visited this place then I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed!”
The restaurant serves mostly British food like beef brisket, duck breast and pork belly and according to The Farrier’s website, all the food is seasonal so the menu is always changing. They also say they source their ingredients from local farmers and offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
So far The Farrier has a perfect five out of five rating with 687 different reviews making it the highest rated restaurant in the small town of Cayton with just over 2,000 people living in the village.
