A group of fourth and fifth graders from PS 5 in Bed-Stuy shared their vision with Council Member Darlene Meadley using high-tech 3D animation design technology.
One of the designers created her project idea for a vacant lot using virtual reality.
The students researched challenges facing the community such as homelessness, crime and food disparities. Then they came up with their ideas around those challenges.
Meadley will vote to determine what she feels is the best fit to help her transform the vacant lot.
Meadley’s office will review the ideas by the finalists and make a decision by the end of May.
