Bed Ridden Sindu Clears Tamil Nadu 12th Public Exam With 86%

Chennai: A Class 12 student in Tamil Nadu, who attended board exams despite being bed-ridden after undergoing 10 surgeries in 2021, scored 518 out of 600 marks in the exams. The girl scored 86% by writing the exam with the help of scribes and private coaching by teachers at Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School in T Nagar.

The life of Sindhu, who was a district-level volleyball player, took an upside turn in December 2020 when the student fell from the third floor of a building.

According to a report on Times of India, the girl Sindhu scored 80 marks in language, 95 in English, 92 in commerce, 89 in accountancy and 66 in computer.

Sindhu said that she’s happy with the score but expected more marks. She also said she did not decide on the next step but plans to prepare for the civil services exam.

Sindhu is currently undergoing treatment at Omandurar Government Multi-Super Specialty Hospital. Earlier, TN CM Stalin who met her announced that the state would bear the cost of treatment.

Meanwhile, in the results announced for Class 10 and 12 students on Monday, about 90.07 students cleared Class 10 and 93.76 students cleared Class 12 exams.

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, who announced the results, said that girls outshine boys in both the categories.

The minister said that 4.06 lakh girl students (96.32 per cent) passed in the Class 12 examinations while 3.49 lakh boys (90.96 per cent) passed the examination.

In Class 12, Perambalur recorded the highest pass percentage at 97.95 per cent followed by Virudhunagar at 97.2 per cent and Ramanathapuram at 97.02 per cent.
