Bed Bath & Beyond Workers’ Wage Suit Should Be Nixed, Judge Says

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc.’s Request to toss out allegations that the company violated New York laws when it paid certain workers every two weeks instead of weekly should be granted, a federal magistrate judge recommended.

Workers accuse the housewares retailer of violating state laws, including one requiring that manual workers receive their wages weekly. But the federal court should decline to exercise jurisdiction over the state claims, a magistrate judge with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
