Bed Bath & Beyond in Jersey City set to permanently close

One of the Bed Bath & Beyond stores in New Jersey is about to close.

The housewares store is located at 400 Marin Blvd. Jersey City will be permanently closed on Sunday, November 14th, according to a branch employee.

The shop offers discounts of up to 70% in the last week.

Once it closes, Hudson County won’t have a Bath & Beyond Bed. The closest locations are in Edgewater and Elizabeth.

Last summer, Bed Bath & Beyond announced plans to close over 200 stores, citing a drop in sales amid the pandemic.

The Jersey City location will be the company’s third New Jersey location to close since the announcement. The Rockaway and Howell stores closed last fall.

The retailer plans to launch a number of new private labels to attract younger customers.

Union-based Bed Bath & Beyond currently has 36 locations in New Jersey and 818 stores worldwide.
