GOLDEN CITY, Mo. – Golden Harvest Day Bed Racing is back in full swing and it’s nothing to snooze on.
For this event, teams race their ‘beds’ made out of iron frames and old motorcycle parts.
First place won a trophy and a cash prize, while the best dressed team also took home some dough.
“We revived it here about eight years ago, we provide the beds and those two beds today were two iron beds and three motorcycles and that is what we came up with,” said Committee Member Allen Rice.
Officials say this tradition spans over 100 years.
