aiims: 150-bed trauma centre at AIIMS in Jodhpur soon: Union cabinet minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat | Jaipur News

JODHPUR: AIIMS Jodhpur will soon have a trauma center comprising 150 beds. Union cabinet minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced on Sunday that a proposal to this effect had already been sent to the government.
Shekhawat made the announcement during the inauguration of a semi-ICU ward at the CHC of Chamu near Jodhpur on Sunday.
The semi-ICU ward has been built entirely by public support and would cater to the people of 40-50 villages in the vicinity.
“I am thankful for the donors who made this ICU possible at this CHC. There is not a single penny from the government account in this ICU,” he said, adding that soon an oxygen cylinder filling machine would be set up here.
The minister claimed that Jodhpur AIIMS was the best hospital in the country after Delhi AIIMS.
“AIIMS and MDM Hospital of Jodhpur play a crucial role in this region of the state for treatment of major diseases and accident cases, where people come from entire western region of Rajasthan,” said Shekhawat.
He added that a lot needs to be done to further strengthen these hospitals. In this direction, he has moved a proposal to set up a 150-bed trauma center in AIIMS, keeping in mind the accident cases.
Referring to the demand of the people to set up a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the region, Shekahwat said that he will get the sanction if the state government provides land for building school.
