Admission open for D.El.Ed, D.P.Ed courses

The Department of Public Instruction has submitted applications for admission to the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) courses in state and recognized teaching institutes with state quota.

An official press release states that interested candidates will receive the application from www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in and submit it to the responsible District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) before May 28th.

Candidates in the general category must have achieved 50% and the SC / ST categories 45% in II PU / Class 12 in order to be admitted to the D.El.Ed course. For the DPEd course, candidates in all categories should have achieved at least 45% of the points, while those participating in state or national sporting events should have achieved 40% of the points in II PU / Class 12.

Institutions merged

The press release said the State Teacher Training Institute for Women in Balmatta, Mangaluru has been merged with the District Institute of Education and Training in Kodialbail.

Candidates should select the DIET, Kodialbail instead of the Women’s Institute when choosing the institute.

DIET is the only state institute that D.El.Ed offers in Dakshina Kannada.
