886 Of 1500 Colleges Will Be Able To Offer Teacher Edu Courses | Indore News

Indore: Of around 1500 BEd, DElEd colleges of Madhya Pradesh only 886 colleges will be able to run Teacher education courses from the academic session 2022-23.
National Council For Teachers Education (NCTE) has declared zero year for those Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) who didn’t comply by filling the Performance Appraisal Report (PAR). Therefore, now those colleges are not included in the list of colleges for the new academic session 2022-23.
“NCTE has released the data that approximately 11,000 institutions filled PAR. Further decided that there will be ‘Zero year’ for those colleges who have not filled. Almost 50% institutions didn’t fill the report,” additional director of Indore’s DHE, Dr Suresh Silawat told TOI.
This will highly impact the seats for admission across the state as the number of colleges have almost decreased by 50 per cent, he added.
In Indore there were over 30 Teacher Education colleges of which over 25 had been included in the list of NCTE by filling the PAR.
The admissions in majority of these colleges for B.Ed had been filled. However the colleges had witnessed less number of students in the M.Ed course in the ongoing academic session. TNN
