Work on an 88-bed student program in Nottingham City is slated to begin after real estate consultancy Box Property brokered a purchase agreement on behalf of Megaclose Properties for the purchase of 7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham.

The 21,000 m², six-story former office building, which was built in late 1960, is located next to the Victoria Center and the 250 m² campus in the city center of Nottingham Trent University. The building permit for the project was obtained in September.

Frankie Labbate, Co-Founder and Director of Box Property, said, “The Mansfield Road acquisition fits in perfectly with the client’s existing portfolio and ethos of providing quality student accommodation within half a mile of Nottingham’s universities. As specialists in buying and selling first-class downtown locations with a variety of uses, we have worked closely with Megaclose since our practice was founded in order to consistently offer them first-class housing options outside of the market in order to expand their presence in the city center. “

The news comes based on another recent purchase by Box Property on behalf of Megaclose of a retail unit in Goosegate, Hockley. The specialist for student living is planning to expand the upper floors into a 27-bed building.
